Review
ActiveSpeed is a program for optimizing your Internet connection. The program achieves this by modifying system settings that operate behind-the-scenes of your PC. The program checks the configuration of the MTU (Maximum Transmition Unit), RWIN (Default Receive Window), TTL (Time To Live), Black Hole Detection and Automatic Discovery parameters. When you install the program, your antivirus may warn you that Ascentive products may be dangerous for your system. Firefox identifies Ascentive´s web site as containing "Dangerous Downloads". Nevertheless, I installed ActiveSpeed on my computer. Once the installation finished, the program ran a scan and told me that my Internet Connection wasn´t optimized. The program showed me all the items tested, with the legend "Not Optimized" next to each one of them. No details were offered. The "Optimize" button led me to a page where I was asked for a user name or password, necessary to perform ANY optimization. In order to get anything done, you´ll need to pay beforehand. This doesn`t seem to be a good idea, if you read the comments about the company on the Internet. |

- The program doesn´t do anything. You´re forced to pay before you know what problems have been found, and if the program can really solve them.
